Hi all,
Welcome to my Lensbaby Magic class! I am happy to share my addiction to Lensbabies with you, and am looking forward to seeing what you will create with these magical lenses.
You can log in at BPSOP.com and click on My Courses on the right side bar menu to access / begin the course. If you have any issues with your username or password, please contact Michelle, [email protected].
Please take a few minutes and introduce yourselves on the Student Introductions Forum page so that we can all get to know you. Also feel free to upload outtakes or additional photos for your classmates to see and comment on in the class Q and A Forum. Interaction adds much to the class experience, so please share your comments and ask lots of questions.
You have 10 days to complete each assignment. I will be doing my critiques on Mondays/Tuesdays. If you are late with an assignment, don’t stress. I would rather wait to see your best possible work than have you rush to meet a deadline. My critiques might have to wait until the following week, but I will critique the images, no matter how late you post.
Size your assignment images to around 1200px on the long side, at 72dpi. Always be sure the color profile is set to sRGB for uploads to the web or your colors will look muddy and not be true to the original. Subject choice is wide open. Please do not crop your assignment photos, I want to see what you saw in the viewfinder when you made the shot and see all that beautiful Lensbaby blur. One of the best things about using a Lensbaby is blurring unwanted elements, not cropping them off. You can crop all you want after I have seen the image. Be sure to add the optic/lens you used as well as the aperture and shutter speed to the image description.
If you need to purchase any Lensbaby equipment, feel free to use my student discount, wclemons at lensbaby.com to save 10% on any purchases.
The Lensbaby Velvet 56/85 lenses are not appropriate for this class because they are straight lenses and not one of their selective focus lenses. If you have a Velvet, feel free to shoot your Lesson 4 images with it and you can ask questions about the Velvets at any time.
If you need to contact me directly about a non-photography issue, my e-mail is [email protected]. Lensbaby questions should be placed in the class General Q and A.
I can’t wait to see your photos!
