    Mastering Nikon Flash Photography

Based in part of Bryan’s best-selling book, Understanding Electronic Flash, here is a flash course designed exclusively for all Nikon Flash users! As the old saying goes, “There is no Photography without light!” We often have plenty of light, but not always where or when we need it. Fortunately, the electronic flash is always there whenever we need it. But truth be told, today’s flashes are so technically advanced that even professionals can find them intimidating!Do you know how to avoid ‘red eye’? Do you know how to balance natural light with the light output from your flash? Why is there only one-half of a picture exposed when you use your flash? Do you know how to freeze action when using flash?

Do you know how to shoot ‘multiple exposures’ with your flash? What is meant by ‘fill flash’? What is meant by rear curtain snyc and when do you use it? How do you keep the room from going dark when your child blows out the birthday candles? How do you avoid those ugly flash reflections? Would you like to shoot professional looking weddings and portraits? Why does the harsh light of mid-day NOT keep an experienced pro from shooting portraits?

You will learn to take better portraits of people, whether family at home or business photos at the office. If adventure is your game, then you will learn how to flash-freeze sports action or create a colorful effects background. After completing the many assignments in this short, but jam-packed course, you will know how to use your flash in many practical and creative ways.

Join Bryan F Peterson and Chris Hurtt for an adventure into the world of using flash. There will be no more confusion about the problems associated with your flash photos. This jam-packed course offers up more than 100 pages of written material, illustrated with more than 50 images and also offers up more than 20 videos that take you on location and show you step by step how a given shot was achieved!

You will quickly go from flash novice to flash expert in 4 short weeks. We’ll cover all the basics: light and flash theories; using flash on camera and off; understanding the power of your flash. And of course you will fully appreciate and learn the value of the two most important flash modes such as TTL, and Manual; bounce vs direct flash; and diffused flash and using colored gels. And this course just wouldn’t complete if we didn’t share with you the absolute discovery and joy of mixing flash with ambient/natural light, whether you wish to shoot a simple portrait, an extreme sport or a simple flower in the garden. Bryan and Chris promise to bring you the most informative, insightful, helpful and vastly creative flash course being offered anywhere on the world wide web for any Nikon Flash SB-700, SB-800, SB-900 or SB-910 user!

    Course Outline:

Lesson 2: Using Flash on Camera and Off Camera
Introduction to techniques of on-camera flash including flash fill, flash key, bounce flash, and diffused flash and adjusting flash output. We’ll look at techniques for using flash off-camera including rear curtain effects, key and fill, diffusers, soft-boxes, wireless flash, and using remote flash, aka Commander Mode.

Lesson 3: Exciting and Challenging off Camera Flash Exposures
The not so difficult mathematical formulas for those sometimes challenging flash exposures. Mixing flash with ambient/natural light and/or ‘killing’ the ambient/natural light.
